This project is my submission for the GMTK Game Jam for 2025.

Controls are simple. left and right arrow keys to walk, space to jump, down arrow key to hide

It is... unfinished. The reason being is I lost 2 days trying to get a state machine working, only to scrap it because I couldn't wrap my head around it. If I had focused more time on what I knew worked, I'd have gotten a lot more done.

The idea for this game was to have a seamless room that would loop. The room would change slightly depending on interacting with items or areas in the room. You would also have to hide from something looming in the woods. It was supposed to emulate being lost in a forest, and trying to find your way out.

Haven't I seen this tree before? I swear I was just here a minute ago. Wait... what was that noise? Is something following me?

I do still plan on finishing this game. I'm glad I did this! It's been quite a journey of learning the frustration of code, and then the sudden "AHA!" moment. So I'm not concerned if this gets disqualified. I'm just happy I learned what I did and will continue to do so! Was hoping to do a paralax background, a little creature that follows you and tries to  capture you if you can't hide quick enough causing a lose state, sunbeams poking through from the top of the screen, and a new room that looks like the exit that is seamless with the room you're looping in throughout the game.

I can't wait to see what other people have done in this jam! Thank you for letting me participate, and I look forward to seeing what everyone has made, and where I go from here! Cheers!

I'm grateful to God for giving me the ability to even get this far!
